[S2E2] Seven

Miller recognized that the correspondence between the limits of one-dimensional absolute judgment and of short-term memory span was only a coincidence, because only the first limit, not the second, can be characterized in information-theoretic terms (i.e., as a roughly constant number of bits). Therefore, there is nothing "magical" about the number seven, and Miller used the expression only rhetorically. Nevertheless, the idea of a "magical number 7" inspired much theorizing, rigorous and less rigorous, about the capacity limits of human cognition. The number seven constitutes a useful heuristic, reminding us that lists that are much longer than that become significantly harder to remember and process simultaneously.

Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (SARS-CoV)-2 infection induces an exacerbated inflammation driven by innate immunity components. Dendritic cells (DCs) play a key role in the defense against viral infections, for instance plasmacytoid DCs (pDCs), have the capacity to produce vast amounts of interferon-alpha (IFN-α). In COVID-19 there is a deficit in DC numbers and IFN-α production, which has been associated with disease severity. In this work, we described that in addition to the DC deficiency, several DC activation and homing markers were altered in acute COVID-19 patients, which were associated with multiple inflammatory markers. Remarkably, previously hospitalized and nonhospitalized patients remained with decreased numbers of CD1c+ myeloid DCs and pDCs seven months after SARS-CoV-2 infection. Moreover, the expression of DC markers such as CD86 and CD4 were only restored in previously nonhospitalized patients, while no restoration of integrin β7 and indoleamine 2,3-dyoxigenase (IDO) levels were observed. These findings contribute to a better understanding of the immunological sequelae of COVID-19.

ECFMG requires that international medical graduates satisfy the examination requirements for ECFMG Certification within a seven-year period. This means that once you pass an exam, you will have seven years to pass the other exam(s) required for ECFMG Certification. This seven-year period begins on the date of the first exam passed and ends exactly seven years from that date.

If you do not satisfy all examination requirements within a maximum of seven years, your earliest USMLE passing performance will no longer be valid for ECFMG Certification. It is your responsibility to track your progress toward meeting the exam requirements for ECFMG Certification. ECFMG will not notify you of upcoming deadlines to meet the seven-year requirement and will not notify you if one (or more) of your passing performances becomes invalid for ECFMG Certification because you failed to meet the seven-year requirement.

I'm on World 4 at the moment. Overall I'd give it a 6/10 or a 7/10 if I'm being generous. It's definitely above average (though that's not saying much given the general quality of levels out there), but so far in 15- levels there's been nothing that gave me a "wow" moment or made me wonder how on earth he managed to pull that off. Which is something I've experienced fairly regularly from my favorite SMM2 designers. These are not courses that could fool you into thinking they were official Nintendo quality. There are plenty of amateurish choices throughout, an overabundance of randomly placed coins and 1ups (I have something like 70 lives already), no real novel or inventive aspects to make individual levels stand out and be memorable, and most importantly, there's no following of the classic Mario/Nintendo design philosophy of Kishōtenketsu (introduce a topic, develop it, give it an unexpected twist, then bring it to a conclusion). I also appreciate that he's not trying to make levels that punish and torture the player, but so far nothing has challenged me even a little bit. The most compelling designs I've seen from others pull off that elusive balance of "challenging but fair" really well, IMO, and I don't see that attempted here. I guess I shouldn't be so harsh, but the "seven years" claim he throws out is pretty overblown and irks me a bit. That's an average of 2 months spent on each level, or nearly a YEAR per world. You could get a PhD in game design in the time it took him to make these 40 levels. There's no way he was working on it consistently for that long, it's just something he's using (undeservedly, imo) to lend some extra credibility and attention to the project. Phew, all that said - these courses are fun enough, I suppose, and it got me to break out SMM2 for the first time in a couple years. This game REALLY pops on the OLED Switch, it turns out

EDIT: And to those saying "It took him seven years to make this??", hey, you never know his situation. Maybe he's employed with a demanding job, or has kids, and could only work on this on his downtime.

Yea, but can you make the seven segment displays do that exact same thing without the Arduino Micro-controller? We used to do that with building our own oscillator and circuitry. Makes you learn more about how things really work. Nice project either way. I am glad to see younger folks getting into electronics even if it is always a Arduino controller circuit.

Spaniard David Puig is back after it was announced that he had turned professional and fully signed up to LIV Golf last September. Meanwhile, Mito Pereira, Sebastian Munoz, Dean Burmester, Brendan Steele, Danny Lee and Thomas Pieters will be participating for the first time. Of course, given the limited 48-player fields for each tournament, that means seven players have stepped aside - at least for the start of the season.

in an effort to learn some low level AVR-c, I a trying to learn how to how to drive 2 7-Segment displays with 2 pins and power both from 7 pins (in theory). All seven segments of both displays are driven by the same port (PortC).

BOFURI: I Don't Want to Get Hurt, so I'll Max Out My Defense is experiencing a delay in episode release. The anime's official website announced that the seventh episode in the currently airing second season will be delayed by two weeks. This is due to complications related to COVID-19, making BOFURI the latest anime to struggle due to the pandemic's ongoing influence.

The seventh episode of BOFURI was meant to air on February 22nd, but that is the episode that will be delayed. Rather than lose two weeks' worth of air time, the anime will re-broadcast the anime's first episode in its place, and the second episode the following week on March 1st. Finally, the new seventh episode will air on March 8, 2023.
