Paper OptionPaper OptionsSatin/Lustre PaperWe offer a Diamond Jet Photolustre paper which is a very nice paper and included in the base price of all our products. While it's a fine choice for any photo, the metallic paper upgrade (see below) is a terrific upgrade for many photos. The satin/lustre paper is typically recommended with photos where people are the focus (ie. family portraits) as well as softer, less vibrant images.

What brand of gatorfoam do you use? I understand there is a difference in archival quality? Is gatorfoam and gatorboard the same? Is there a reason you do not roll the Miracle Muck on to the linen and prefer to roll on the board? Would rolling on both be too much?I have a painting on Classens oil primed linen I want to glue down that is already finished except for some fine details; it is 1420. It does not have thick paint . What major mistake should I be aware of in applying the Miricle Muck? I do not want to mess this up. Thanks so much for your post and continued replies. They are extremely helpful.

Metal gatorfoam dimensional letters are recommended for indoor use and are popular in libraries, banks, churches, schools, and business offices. The letters are constructed of a high density polystyrene foam core with a hard, smooth surface on the front and back. For years this material has been the preferred material to use by photo mounters, artists, designers, sign painters, exhibit builders and engineers. Gatorfoam resists dents and punctures because of the exceptionally hard surface.

Black Gatorfoam Board is an extruded polystyrene foam board bonded between two layers of Luxcell wood-fiber veneer. It's a heavy duty yet versatile foam board and is great for many applications. Gatorfoam board excels where light weight, strength, rigidity and warp resistance are a must!

Foam core board is a lightweight, economical, and attractive option for printing signs. Foam core is a lightweight layer of foam sandwiched between two pieces of white paper. It is commonly used in school projects, where its short life span is not an obstacle. Foam board signs typically begin to warp within 60 days, simply due to the moisture in the air. Foam core is also prone to bending, creasing, and tearing, requiring gentle handling.

Gatorboard mounting is a process where the artwork is printed on vinyl material and then mounted to the substrate. Gator mounting is a two-stage printing process that takes more time and, in turn, costs the consumer more money. Gator mounting was traditionally an industry standard until the invention of flatbed printers that utilize direct print.

Gatorboard signs are custom made to order using your exact specifications. The sign is printed based on the information you provide in your order. Your order goes directly to the printers where your artwork is then printed in CYMK using the resolution and other details that you provided.

Ken McCorry uses gator foam for structures on his Conrail railroad. He uses gator foam in three sixteenths of an inch thick sheets available at framer shops where pictures are framed. There are two layers of craft paper on either side with a high density foam in the center, similar to foam board, but gator foam is stronger. Ken has used this material to build an arch bridge as well as some of the large steel mill structures on his railroad. 041b061a72
